Why is finding chases in the wild nearly impossible?

If you've ever hunted for a chase (a rarer variant of a widely released Pop!) in the wild, then we're sure you've been disappointed. Lately Funko has been dropping tons of chases, which is awesome for collectors, but finding one at your local Hot Topic or Walmart is damn near impossible. At the time of this post there are  Stranger Things Demogorgon and Eleven chases that have been bringing down $40-$60 on eBay, because lots of collectors are willing to pay rather than trudge around the mall all day only to come back empty handed. The problem is that scalpers, usually with a connection at their local big box corporation, are hiding them and scooping them up to flip on eBay. So, when the shipment shows up, they have a slim chance of hitting the shelf. And If they do, the demand is so high, they'll be gone in no time. So how can you level the playing field?

Lots of local comic book shops & specialty shops take pride in giving their loyal customers a fair shake. So support your local pop shop and increase your chances of finding one! At Shirtnado, the very site you've stumbled upon, we take pride in shipping a chase for 1 out of every 6 we box up and send out the door, so even ordering online gives you a fair chance. Don't believe us? Follow us on instagram @shirtnado, and watch us box them up and put them on the store shelves regularly. Or even better, stop by the shop and see for yourself. Don't see what you're looking for in plain site? Don't be afraid to ask, we might have a few behind the counter waiting for someone on the hunt. Right now, there's a closed demogorgon variant, just chilling on the shelf with the rest of the demogorgons, waiting for the next lucky hunter to swing by.
